made a couple of minor changes to the colour scheme. i felt it was a bit too muted/drab for autumn. i don't know about you people [except beth with her rockin' kansan autumns] but where i come from the hills are like a shag rug from the 70s in the autumn, all different colours and tones. so i threw some more red in there [that green-yellow for the spewed for was annoying me] and added a red tinge to the background so it doesn't look like literal dung. if any complaints just let me know [or if you don't like it dave you can fix it your bloody self ;)]

Okay, because today was more than yesterday, I'm going to do another A Day in the Life:
* Woke up at 11:30 again * got up and et some artificial crab meat in a green salad that was kind of nasty * messed around * played civilization II for a very long time * had lunch at 3:00, which was 2 nutella sandwiches. talk about healthy! * went out for a long walk * helped grandad move dog pen * came in and had tea * sat around reading poetry * read Oscar Wilde's Ballad of Reading Gaol out loud to my grandmother * now recovering from headache brought upon by reading the Ballad of Reading Gaol outloud to my grandmother. The ballad is some 20 pages long, and somehow manages to be sensible and rhyme the whole way through. It's grand. In Memory of Petey [Steven] Time:4:49 PM
So I saw Meet Joe Black for the third time last night. I like the movie, but I have nothing more of intrest to type on the subject.
Today I started my work at the Book Seller (Used and Scarce) books. I swept and mopped and broke the mop (haha!) and wiped various surfaces for 3 hours and then went home. On the way home I saw a billboard that said "STANDARD ISSUE" and I was so perplexed as to why someone would put STANDARD ISSUE on a billboard that I forgot to look at the rest of it. Why do I bother to bring this up? merely because I have nothing else to say. So why write anything? BECAUSE I CAN. In other news one of the latest strong bad emails comes from someone in the place where steve used to live. Hwoda thunk. A day in the life [of one who rips people off].
* Woke up at 11:30 [actually awoke, not just got up] * talked to my mom about my plane ticket * made a sandwich, talked with grandmother * dicked around online whilst my grandparents napped * went outside for some time, burned things * played Civilization II for some time * played Deus Ex for sometime * realised I needed to get outside more * had tea * went outside some more, burned more things * played some more Civilization II * more Deus Ex * drove the Golf Cart around Wow, I really need to get a life. So I was out for a walk last night, in the dark, with the air actually relatively cool for Alabama [about 18°[c]], fog laying about..and it made me think back to the great games of hide and go seek in the dark and capture the flag I used to play when I was younger, namely in Kansas. Now, these were not kid games. In fact, a lot of times there was at least one 18 year old or more thrown into the bunch. This was hard core gaming, and it was great fun. I wish I had friends to play this stuff with again. I think I'm going to move to Kansas, if only to play hide and go seek in the dark! But like, I don't know, I miss Kansas. I blame that on two things. The weather, and Beth. Every year around this time I start missing Kansas because of the awesomely drab autumns and winters, and talking to Beth as much as I have lately has somehow made me think about it a lot more.
Anyway. In Memory of Petey [Steven] Time:10:45 AM Wednesday, September 10, 2003
I really don't know where to begin. Hey, that was an oxymoron. Anyways, I'm back from Winnipeg and Bemerjiragawa and I don't know where all, and I must say, I'm awefully glad to be back. I had virtually no internet (haw haw, virtually no internet, haw, haw) the entire time, and I hate to have to say it but I'm going to anyways: my relatives are boring. It's fun when we go down there for like 4 days, or maybe a week, but a week and a half is a bit much. Granted, not all of them are boring, but overall they're a very boring people. They are also incredibly good cooks. I need to jog some of this off this week...
Meeting Daanikka was fun, and her brothers were really fun to hang out with at the pool and stuff and also do other fun stuff and stuff. I dunno. This past week was really a blur. I was tired the whole time, for some reason. And gosh I missed my komputar machine. I should have pictures up tomorrow maybe after my jog. Har. I bought The Two Towers DVD on the 24th or whenever it came out, continuing the Annual Tradition of Buying Lord of the Rings DVDs On the Day They Come Out in the US and Also Eash Time at Best Buy. Last year the ritual was carred out in Florida at synod. God willing I'll hoard my sheckels so I can do that again next year, and hopefully it'll come out when I'm down there. I also saw Master of Disguise twice. That movie is freakin hilarious. I'd start typing out random quotations, but I'd laugh myself silly. As it is I'm tired and I'm going to bed. Good night New York, I love you, and if my wife is in the audience tell the kids I said hi. In Memory of Petey [Dave] Time:10:44 PM
I'M BACK SO GLAD TO BE BACK OH YEAH MORE LATER.

I've made a new colour scheme to celebrate the return of Autumn to the world of the living. If you all do not like it, just let me know. I'll fix it back to the old green and start anew!

I got my computer all set up in the 'porch' [really just a windowed day room complete with rugs, bookshelves, and whatnot. a sitting room. see also 'Day Room'] of my mom's mom's house. It's really awesome in here, nice and cold and dusty and stuff. Not all dirty like my other grandmother's house, and not all hot and humid, and also just really open and big feeling. Anyway, I don't know why I'm positng about that. I guess because I like it.
I've started listening to some Flogging Molly again lately. Irish people, in all of their suckage, sure can rock sometimes though too. I've mostly been playing games when I'm on my computer [Dungeon Siege, at long last], but now I'm watching the The Two Towers DvD all the time. I'm not online as much as I used to be, and when I am my life has been empty enough to not really have anything to say here. Oh...well. it's been the worst day since yesterday In Memory of Petey [Steven] Time:2:28 PM |
