In honour of tomorrow's big game, and just because we love the Esks so much, we've adapted this colourus schema to blend a little. Well, not a little, actually a vastly. Everyone needs some vast blend.
And Steve said that I could say that I did it all by myself. So! I did it! In Memory of Petey [Dave] Time:7:59 PM
The boss didn't come in to work till quite late today, so I was, as they say, holding the fort. Among the duties required in "holding the fort" is running for the phone.
"Hello, Bookseller." "Hi, is Rod there please?" "I'm sorry he isn't in right now." "Is there any way I can get ahold of him?" "I don't think so." "I was supposed to meet him at the University but since I live right by the book shop I was hoping we could just meet there." "I see." "Do you have his home number?" "No, I'm sorry." "Look, you aren't being very gracious. It isn't like I'm asking you to murder your mother or anything." I laughed and said, "I'm sorry but I can't help you." "OK, thanks" "You're very welcome." "Bye." "Bye." It wasn't until later that I thought maybe she was actually mad. In Memory of Petey [Dave] Time:2:53 PM
Here at word for word, we're committed to your spiritual growth and walk with Jesus. So it is my brotherly duty to bring you:
A Prayer for Each of You to Pray, by the WFW Crew "Dear Jesus, I am sorry I have not been reading word for word as much lately or keeping up on the comments. I believe that you died for my sins and I want you to come into my heart. Please forgive me. I promise to be a loyal reader/commenter at wfw. In your name, amen." A Yesterday in the Life of Steven Sivley
*Woke up at about 8:20 *Stumbled downstairs [in the buff, home alone] *Got clothes, went upstairs, got shower *Cleaned up the mess the dogs made the night before [chihuahuas pooping and peeing all over the place=bad] *Drank a slim fast for breakfast *Ate veggie sausages for breakfast [i'm running out of food, so i'm having to clean out the freezers] *Mopped up the kitchen floor and tried to organise mess mother left when she went to my sister's house *Noticed the really strong winds outside *Talked to Kim on text messaging *Watched TV *Probably listened to music or something *Talked to Kim for a few hours on the phone *Put on coat and fancy scarf *Braved wintery winds and freezing temps to walk to the store to get milk and bread and sunflower seeds and a bottle of arizona tea *Braved wintery winds and freezing temps to walk back home *Made cream of mushroom soup and ate supper like a semi-civilised person *Ate sunflower seeds, drank tea, and watched TV *Talked to Kim on text until about 1:30 *Went to sleep In Memory of Petey [Steven] Time:12:45 PM

I've always read a lot of fiction; its sort of my avatar. "Dave?" people say, "Dave? Why yes, I know him. Reads a lot of fiction, doesn't he?" I think the fiction OD is starting to control the way I read. Especially acedemic books I am finding difficult to read, because you have to read it in a diffrent fashion than fiction. With fiction detail is vastly less unimportant, and you can practically skim over it at breakneck speeds, whereas with "thinking books" one has to read carefully and comprehensively. I believe that too much fiction has corrupted my faculty for that style of reading. I am not a patient reader any more. But I'm sure that with time and discipline I can reaquire this simple patience.

So here I am again, at the local library this time, which is a very short trip down the road. And now time for a day in the life.
*Got up at about 9:45 *Took a shower *Fed cat *Washed laundry *Ate a Healthy Choice frozen meal for lunch [what's happened to me? i'll be singing soprano soon! but at least i'll be lookin' soooo good] *Sat on the couch watching Late Night, SNL, and two episodes of Kids in the Hall (in that order) [this action negates healthy eating and exercise, kids] *Got up and got my jacket *Set out for the library, on foot *Right outside the fence, was hollered at by a carload of kids. Seemed like "taxi!" or something was said. I don't know. Maybe "i hate your guts you faggot hippie with long hair!" *Turned around and went back home, cos kids were circling up ahead apparently waiting for me *Decided I had cajones in my britches and marched back toward the library, not encountering them again *Had a nice walk *Typed this stuff *Updated personal blog *Told the library woman I was done, and went home to dig on the strokes. So there you have it everyone, not as exciting as living the cowboy life or skidooing or going to college in winnepeg, but still! exciting! POST SCRIPT: for those of you who want me to update my personal blog: so sorry, won't be happening anytime soon. except in a couple of minutes. they say promises, they mean promises In Memory of Petey [Steven] Time:1:43 PM Sunday, November 09, 2003
This weekend I went out to the farm and helped round up and herd the cattle from one pasture to another one. I used the quad and the pickup, and that was awesome. I'd never used a standard before, so I had to learn in a hurry. After that was done I took the skidoo out for a spin. It wouldn't go any faster than 80 though, so that was too bad. There are few things in life more kickass than pulling jumps on a skidoo. Especially in the dark, because you know it looks awesome. Not that anyone is around to watch, which is too bad, but wind in your face and through your jacket and that pure moment when you leave the ground and fly for a second, and that speed burst you get when you land just makes you feel good. I even stopped once to listen to the coyotes and watch the eclipse and just soak it in.

I was searching for the blog today at the library, and I found something called Tyco Wang Industries or so. It's missing the H, but still! Tyco Wang! How cool is that!
Yes, yes, I'm posting again. It's sunday, so I don't get as long on here, but still. I got some new shoes, and as I walk they make that lovely solid step noise. Maybe it's because I'm not dragging my feat anymore. These shoes rock. Once I get my hair cut, I'll be practically completely transformed. I haven't been wearing boggin lately because a) the new one I bought just aint right, and b) cos my hair is getting too long and looks hillariously lame, and c) Bruce. I'm wearing virtually the same clothes as before, it's only the way I'm wearing it that has changed. I'm wearing a nice nit sweater over a button up cotton right now, and it looks grand. I'm getting semi-preppy even, it's almost scary, but it's great. I've also started wearing tweed old man jackets I've picked up from the Salvation Army. Those places kick ASS. Goths and Punks: You guys are wise. Though lame. [kind of]. Anyway, I'll probably be posting more now. I got in a bit of a lazy slump when I got home, cos I couldn't do the stuff I planned on doing cos of my grandmother being here, but now I've finally pulled myself out of it. "meet me in the bathroom," that's what she said. i don't mind..it's true In Memory of Petey [Steven] Time:11:25 AM |
